Kino's Journey: the Beautiful World (キノの旅 -the Beautiful World- , Kino no Tabi -the Beautiful World-), otherwise known as Kino's Journey is a Japanese light novel series written by Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. Originally, the series started serialization in volume five in the now-defunct light novel magazine Dengeki hp on March 10, 2000. The series began with first volume on July 10, 2000 by ASCII Media Works under the imprint Dengeki Bunko. A spin-off light novel series titled Gakuen Kino was published on July 10, 2006, with one volume per year at five volumes by July 2011.

As of October 2017, the light novel series has twenty-one volumes. In 2017, the series received its first manga adaptation by Iruka Shiomiya and began serialization on April 2017 issue of Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge released on March 17, 2017.

The series also features two anime seasons - one produced by A.C.G.T and Genco which aired in 2003, and the other by Egg Firm and Lerche, airing in 2017. In addition, there are two films (何かをするために―life goes on.― and キノの旅:病気の国 -For You-) , two PS2 visual novels and a Drama CD.


The story primarily follows Kino, a young adventurer and their companion Hermes, a talking motorcycle. They travel and explore a world of many different countries, each with their own people and culture, spending only three days at each place.
